6. Ponders End Place Shaping Priority Area

Located in the east of the borough between Ponders End and Lee Valley Park, the area covers approximately 70 hectares, much of which is an area of deficiency in access to nature. Improvements to the public realm are already underway and will include several biodiversity enhancements. The Place Shaping documents will provide an outline design to bring forward nature based and other leisure activities in the Lee Valley Regional Park contributing to the Catchment Plan’s aim of providing opportunities for communities to enjoy and take pride in their local environment.
5. Meridian Water Place Shaping Priority Area

Currently Meridian Water is an underused brownfield site of over 70 hectares on the waterfront of the Lee Valley near Edmonton. Three of the borough’s watercourses run through the site and the site is adjacent to both the Walthamstow Marshes and the Lee Valley Park.
