10. Priory Common Rainmeadow
Themes: Water quality; Getting people and communities engaged
Objectives:
- Reduce the frequency and severity of pollution
- Increase surface water management at source
Project description
Redirecting road run-off into a tree-lined rainmeadow alongside the pavement to Priory Road
Surface water flooding occurs when our drainage network is unable to cope with heavy rainfall. The London Borough of Haringey has identified Priory Common as a potential flood risk and flow pathway. A SuDS here will intercept rain water and divert it into a rainmeadow that will slow the water down. This will help to reduce the risk of flash flooding and will prevent road- run-off pollution entering the River Moselle.
