Drain marking is a great way of spreading the word that our street drains lead straight to our local rivers.
Road drains are designed just for rainwater but carry anything else that is washed or poured down them.
Everyday paints, household waste and oils are allowed to enter road drains and this causes pollution of our waterways.
On the May bank holiday weekend Thames21 ran the first ever community drain marking event to take place in England!
Our super team of volunteers marked 50 street drains across the Salmons Brook and Pymmes Brook catchments with our custom designed drain markers. We will be running a series of drain marking events across Enfield throughout the summer months.
