Free hands-on training days organised by Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust, Environment Agency and the Wild Trout Trust to give you the skills to carry out river habitat enhancement work.

What are they?
During the day-long workshop delivered by staff from the Wild Trout Trust, you'll learn the tools and techniques to improve river habitat. We will concentrate on the skills associated with installing woody debris features such as deflectors and brash berms. The workshops are aimed at anyone working on rivers, from fishery managers to conservation volunteers. The aim is to give you the knowledge and techniques to be able to replicate what you have learnt to improve rivers elsewhere.
Equipment, materials and lunch will be provided, you will just need to wear suitable clothes and bring waders if you have them.

Over the last three years we have had almost 300 people attend these workshops, with lots of good feedback.
There are five workshops taking place at two sites during July 2016:
• Monday 25 July River Colne
• Tuesday 26 July River Colne
• Wednesday 27 July River Colne
• Thursday 28 July River Stort
• Friday 29 July River Stort
