Two workshops are taking place in April 2019, to train new volunteers in how to become Riverfly Monitors.
If you are interested in the health of your local river and would you like to learn more about its ecology, this workshop is for you!
Once a month volunteers undertake a survey of riverflies at a site along their local river, to monitor its health and report any pollution events.
The next training course for new Riverfly Monitors is taking place on:
- Saturday 13th April - at Digswell, Welwyn Garden City (River Mimram)
- Saturday 27th April - at Latimer Park, Chesham (River Chess)
On the day, your Riverfly Coordinator will teach you how to kick sample the river and identify eight groups of pollution sensitive Riverflies. You will receive an identification and information pack, and access to loaning a full riverfly survey kit.
