Welcome to the website of the Middle Lea Catchment Partnership, and the home of the Middle Lea Catchment Management Plan.  Our Catchment Plan will improve the river for wildlife and for people. It will also help us to meet the UK's obligations under the Water Framework Directive.

At the catchment meeting in January 2015, the MIddle Lea Catchment Partnership decided to make eels a focal species for the catchment.  A smaller project group was formed, to investigate where the barriers to eel passage were in the catchment, and to see what could be done to overcome these barriers.
