12. River Enhancement at Marford Farm

Objective:
- Increase the amount and quality of in-channel, bankside and floodplain habitat
Project description
This project will enhance the river conditions to promote invertebrates, wildlife and fish stocks and control excessive weed growth.
Verulam Angling Club, who manage two stretches of the river at this location, will undertake the following positive management:
- remove or pollard over-shading trees to let light to the river;
- remove Himalayan Balsam;
- install deflectors to disperse silt;
- clear silt;
- install gravel runs.
