Manor Road Park officially re-opened on Monday 22 October, with residents gathering to celebrate the extensive improvements to the part of the River Lea that runs through the park.
Local residents got the chance to find out more about the river improvement works and other exciting river restoration works in the Luton area from local water supplier, Affinity Water, and community charity Groundwork Luton & Bedfordshire.
Affinity Water's 'Water Saving Squad' were on hand to give out FREE water saving devices and helpful tips to save water. Groundwork's RiverLUTiON team showcased the improvements to the water quality and invited residents to get involved to improve the health of the River Lea.
The river restoration and park improvements were carried out by Affinity Water in collaboration with Luton Council, The Environment Agency, The Luton Lea Catchment Partnership, Groundwork, and local river groups.
