Objectives for the Stort

These objectives were developed during a workshop held in Autumn 2012. People and organisations with a stake or an interest in the river were asked to suggest their ideas about what the aims of the Catchment Management Plan should be.

The aims of the Stort Catchment Plan are:

Flow

A. Maintain sufficient flow to support a healthy river ecosystem 

 

Quality

B. Achieve water quality that is good enough to support a healthy aquatic ecology 

 

Habitats & Wildlife

C. Maintain and enhance the river’s natural habitats and wildlife 

 

People

D. Increase people’s awareness, appreciation, education and involvement
