Affinity Water in partnership with the Environment Agency are about to start phase 1 of a river restoration project at Tewin Water.

This initial phase will be the pollarding and coppicing of a number of trees along the river bank. This will allow additional light to penetrate through to the river which will encourage the growth of marginal and in channel vegetation creating additional aquatic habitats and increasing biodiversity. Many of the trees are in a poor state of health and pollarding and coppicing will help prolong the life of these trees.

This forms part of Project 38 on the Mimram Management Plan.
