We're delighted to announce that the national rollout of the Catchment Based Approach will be launched from Singler's Marsh, in the Mimram catchment.

The date of the rollout will be confirmed shortly when Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust & the Environment Agency will be hosting a visit by Richard Benyon, Natural Environment & Fisheries Minister.

HMWT recently project managed works there funded by Natural England’s Nature Improvement Area (NIA) Funding for the Lea Catchment.  In addition, Singler's Marsh, owned by Welwyn Hatfield Council, is the focus of ongoing works by Friends of the Mimram and local volunteers.  An exciting new project to reinstate the gravel river bed is planned for 2013, also funded by the NIA.  The Environment Agency are also supporting this partnership-based aproach to enhancing the river at this site.

Our approach to Catchment Management Planning and partnership working across both Beane and Mimram catchments is being held up as an example across the country.  This national recognition is truly a testament to the hard work of everyone involved.

Keep watching for more details!
