Objectives:

  • That there is adequate flow along the length of the river to support a 'good status' chalk stream ecology (as defined by Water Framework Directive)
  • That water quality, temperature and river bed quality are such that they support chalk stream ecology

Project description

Restore water flow through this section of the river near Pulmer Water

Restore the river bank and remove accumulated silt and vegetation to allow the river to flow naturally and to restore the drain into the river from the nearby spring. There is a nearby local Wildlife Site, which may also benefit.
