On the 13 February 2020 nine employees from Engie took part in river clean up and river monitoring activities along the river and banks at Leagrave Park.

The day was a great success and the team cleared up 28 bags of rubbish and an assortment of other bulky items from around a 100 metre stretch of the river from the car park. In the afternoon with a much cleaner river Engie staff got involved in river monitoring. The team used citizen science techniques to record things such as the nitrate and phosphate levels, turbidity and more. They also took a sample and recorded the wildlife and invertebrates living in the river. Thank you to Engie for supporting the RiverLUTiON project, kindly funded by Thames Water.

A thank you also to the Engie team to supporting our food poverty work. The team donated a range of fresh fruit, veg and tinned goods that was donated to the High Town food bank. Groundwork will continue to donate fresh fruit and veg to support living in food poverty. For more information about this project (funded by National Lottery Community Fund) visit the website.
