41. Houghton Brook

Objectives:
- Improve existing wildlife corridors
- Increase the amount and quality of habitat
Project description
This project will re-naturalise the Houghton Brook along its length where possible and re-meander where a straight man-made channel exists .
Work will be undertaken on the adjacent trees to achieve the optimum shade and light conditions in the brook. We will also retain and enhance the riparian zone and wet woodland features along the stretch. This will ensure a net gain to the condition of the brook through local developments. Where required, the outfalls and structures into and over the brook will be improved and repaired.
