3. Red-House Fishery Restoration

Theme: Ecology and morphology

Objective:

  • Improve riverine and riparian habitat

Project description

This project will remove silt from the river and return it to its former glory.

The Old River Lea is extremely silted up at this point, resulting in a lack of fish and invertebrate habitat.  By removing this silt, the project would enhance this section, to the benefit of:

  • Fishing;
  • Bird watching;
  • Dragonfly habitat;
  • Recreational users.
